2. Questions: Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks was born in Aldgate, London in 1948. He attended college in Cambridge and earned an Honours Degree in Philosophy. While a student there, he traveled to NY to meet the Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson who urged him to seek rabbinic ordination.

During that time, he was knighted and appointed a seat in the House of Lords.  A visiting professor of over 14 institutions, Rabbi Sacks holds 18 honorary degrees and has served the Jewish people with unending honour, dignity and commitment to human rights and religious freedoms.
